Deuteronomy 5:12-14

12“‘Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. 13Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 14but athe seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, bthat your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.

Nehemiah 9:14

14 cand you made known to them your holy Sabbath and commanded them commandments and statutes and a law by Moses your servant.

Nehemiah 13:15-22

15In those days I saw in Judah people treading winepresses don the Sabbath, and bringing in heaps of grain and loading them on donkeys, and also wine, grapes, figs, and all kinds of loads, ewhich they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day. And fI warned them on the day when they sold food. 16Tyrians also, who lived in the city, brought in fish and all kinds of goods and sold them on the Sabbath to the people of Judah, in Jerusalem itself! 17 gThen I confronted the nobles of Judah and said to them, “What is this evil thing that you are doing, hprofaning the Sabbath day? 18 iDid not your fathers act in this way, and did not our God bring all this disaster
The Hebrew word can mean evil, harm, or  disaster, depending on the context
on us and on this city? Now you are bringing more wrath on Israel by profaning the Sabbath.”

19As soon as it kbegan to grow dark at the gates of Jerusalem before the Sabbath, I commanded that the doors should be shut and gave orders that they should not be opened until after the Sabbath. And I stationed some of my servants at the gates, that no load might be brought in on the Sabbath day. 20Then the merchants and sellers of all kinds of wares lodged outside Jerusalem once or twice. 21 lBut I warned them and said to them, “Why do you lodge outside the wall? If you do so again, I will lay hands on you.” From that time on they did not come on the Sabbath. 22Then I commanded the Levites mthat they should purify themselves and come and guard the gates, to keep the Sabbath day holy. nRemember this also in my favor, O my God, and spare me according to the greatness of your steadfast love.

Proverbs 10:22

22 oThe blessing of the Lord makes rich,
and he adds no sorrow with it.
Or  and toil adds nothing to it

Isaiah 56:2-7

2Blessed is the man who does this,
and the son of man who holds it fast,
qwho keeps the Sabbath, not profaning it,
and keeps his hand from doing any evil.”
3 Let not rthe foreigner who has joined himself to the Lord say,
“The Lord will surely separate me from his people”;
and let not the eunuch say,
Behold, I am sa dry tree.”
4For thus says the Lord:
“To the eunuchs twho keep my Sabbaths,
who choose the things that please me
and hold fast my covenant,
5 uI will give in my house and within my walls
a vmonument and a name
better than sons and daughters;
wI will give them an everlasting name
that shall not be cut off.
6 “And xthe foreigners who join themselves to the Lord,
to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord,
and to be his servants,
everyone ywho keeps the Sabbath and does not profane it,
and holds fast my covenant
7 zthese I will bring to aamy holy mountain,
and make them joyful in my house of prayer;
abtheir burnt offerings and their sacrifices
will be accepted on my altar;
for acmy house shall be called a house of prayer
for all peoples.”

Isaiah 58:13-14

13 adIf you turn back your foot from the Sabbath,
from doing your pleasure
Or business
on my holy day,
and call the Sabbath a delight
and the holy day of the Lord honorable;
if you honor it, not going your own ways,
or seeking afyour own pleasure,
Or pursuing your own business
or talking idly;
Hebrew  or speaking a word

14then you shall take delight in the Lord,
aiand I will make you ride on the heights of the earth;
Or  of the land

akI will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father,
alfor the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
