Deuteronomy 6:10-12

10“And when the Lord your God brings you into the land that he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you—with great and good cities athat you did not build, 11and houses full of all good things that you did not fill, and cisterns that you did not dig, and vineyards and olive trees that you did not plant—and when you eat and are full, 12 bthen take care lest you forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

Deuteronomy 8:10-18

10And you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.

11“Take care lest you forget the Lord your God by not keeping his commandments and his rules and his statutes, which I command you today, 12 clest, when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and live in them, 13and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all that you have is multiplied, 14 dthen your heart be lifted up, and you eforget the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, 15who fled you through the great and terrifying wilderness, gwith its fiery serpents and scorpions hand thirsty ground where there was no water, iwho brought you water out of the flinty rock, 16who fed you in the wilderness with jmanna that your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and test you, kto do you good in the end. 17Beware llest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ 18You shall remember the Lord your God, for mit is he who gives you power to get wealth, nthat he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

Job 31:24-25

24 o“If I have made gold my ptrust
or called qfine gold my confidence,
25if I have rrejoiced because my wealth was abundant
or because smy hand had found much,

Psalms 49:6-7

6those who ttrust in their wealth
and boast of the abundance of their riches?
7Truly no man ucan ransom another,
or vgive to God wthe price of his life,

Psalms 49:16-19

16 Be not afraid when a man becomes rich,
when the glory of his house increases.
17 xFor when he dies he will ycarry nothing away;
his glory will not go down after him.
18For though, while he lives, he counts himself zblessed
—and though you get praise when you do well for yourself—
19his soul will aago to the generation of his fathers,
who will never again absee light.

Proverbs 11:28

28Whoever actrusts in his riches will fall,
but the righteous will adflourish like a green leaf.

Matthew 13:22

22As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but aethe cares of afthe world and agthe deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.
