Deuteronomy 6:10-12

10“And when the Lord your God brings you into the land that he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you—with great and good cities athat you did not build, 11and houses full of all good things that you did not fill, and cisterns that you did not dig, and vineyards and olive trees that you did not plant—and when you eat and are full, 12 bthen take care lest you forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

Deuteronomy 8:12-14

12 clest, when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and live in them, 13and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all that you have is multiplied, 14 dthen your heart be lifted up, and you eforget the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery,

1 Samuel 25:36-38

36And Abigail came to Nabal, and behold, fhe was holding a feast in his house, like the feast of a king. And Nabal’s heart gwas merry within him, for he was very drunk. So she told him nothing hat all until the morning light. 37In the morning, when the wine had gone out of Nabal, his wife told him these things, and his heart died within him, and he became as a stone. 38And about ten days later ithe Lord struck Nabal, and he died.

Job 21:9-13

The Rich Man and Lazarus

19There was a rich man who was clothed in zpurple and fine linen and aawho feasted sumptuously every day. 20And at his gate abwas laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, 21who desired to be fed with acwhat fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22The poor man died and was carried by adthe angels aeto Abraham’s side.
