The Way of the Righteous and the Wicked

1 Blessed is the man
The singular Hebrew word for  man (ish) is used here to portray a representative example of a godly person; see Preface

who mwalks not in nthe counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in othe way of sinners,
nor psits in qthe seat of rscoffers;
2but his sdelight is in the law
Or instruction
of the Lord,
and on his ulaw he meditates day and night.

Mem

97 Oh how bdI love your law!
It is my bemeditation all the day.
98Your commandment makes me bfwiser than my enemies,
for it is ever with me.
99I have more understanding than all my teachers,
for bgyour testimonies are my meditation.
100I understand more than bhthe aged,
Or  the elders

for I bjkeep your precepts.
101I bkhold back my feet from every evil way,
in order to keep your word.
102I do not turn aside from your rules,
for you have taught me.
103How blsweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104Through your precepts I get understanding;
therefore bmI hate every false way.

Nun

105 bnYour word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.
