Deuteronomy 7:1-2

A Chosen People

1“When the aLord your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it, and clears away many nations before you, bthe Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations cmore numerous and mightier than you, 2 dand when the Lord your God gives them over to you, and you defeat them, then you must edevote them to complete destruction.
That is, set apart ( devote) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)
gYou shall make no covenant with them and show no mercy to them.

Joshua 10:42

42And Joshua captured all these kings and their land at one time, hbecause the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.

Joshua 21:43-45

43 iThus the Lord gave to Israel all the land that he swore to give to their fathers. And they took possession of it, and they settled there. 44 jAnd the Lord gave them rest on every side just as he had sworn to their fathers. kNot one of all their enemies had withstood them, for lthe Lord had given all their enemies into their hands. 45 mNot one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.

Joshua 24:11-12

11 nAnd you went over the Jordan and came to Jericho, oand the leaders of Jericho fought against you, and also pthe Amorites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. And I gave them into your hand. 12And I sent qthe hornet before you, which drove them out before you, the two kings of the Amorites; it was rnot by your sword or by your bow.

Psalms 44:2-3

2you with your own hand sdrove out the nations,
but tthem you planted;
you afflicted the peoples,
but uthem you set free;
3for not vby their own sword did they win the land,
nor did their own arm save them,
but your right hand and your arm,
and wthe light of your face,
xfor you delighted in them.
