5 But thus shall you deal with them: ^ayou shall break down their altars and dash in pieces their ^bpillars and chop down their ^cAsherim and ^dburn their carved images with fire.

Deuteronomy 12:2-3

2 ^eYou shall surely destroy all the places where the nations whom you shall dispossess served their gods, ^fon the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. 3 You shall tear down their altars and dash in pieces ^gtheir pillars and burn their ^hAsherim with fire. 1 Kings 15:12-13

1 Now when all this was finished, all Israel who were present went out to the cities of Judah and ^vbroke in pieces the ^wpillars and cut down ^xthe Asherim and broke down the high places and the altars throughout all Judah and Benjamin, and in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the people of Israel returned to their cities, every man to his possession.
