Deuteronomy 7:5

5But thus shall you deal with them: ayou shall break down their altars and dash in pieces their bpillars and chop down their cAsherim and dburn their carved images with fire.

Deuteronomy 12:2-3

2 eYou shall surely destroy all the places where the nations whom you shall dispossess served their gods, fon the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. 3You shall tear down their altars and dash in pieces gtheir pillars and burn their hAsherim with fire. You shall chop down the carved images of their gods and idestroy their name out of that place.

Judges 6:25

25That night the Lord said to him, “Take your father’s bull, and the second bull seven years old, and pull down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down jthe Asherah that is beside it

Gideon Destroys the Altar of Baal

28When the men of the town rose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was broken down, and the Asherah beside it was cut down, and the second bull was offered on the altar that had been built.

1 Kings 15:12-13

Hezekiah Organizes the Priests

1Now when all this was finished, all Israel who were present went out to the cities of Judah and vbroke in pieces the wpillars and cut down xthe Asherim and broke down the high places and the altars throughout all Judah and Benjamin, and in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the people of Israel returned to their cities, every man to his possession.
