Deuteronomy 8:2-4

2 And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you ^athese forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, ^btesting you ^cto know what was in your heart, ^dwhether you would keep his commandments or not. 3 And he humbled you and ^elet you hunger and ^ffed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that ^gman does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word ^{▼▼Hebrew by all} that comes from the mouth of the Lord. 4 ⁱYour clothing did not wear out on you and your foot did not swell these forty years.

Deuteronomy 29:5

5 ^jI have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn off your feet.

Nehemiah 9:21

21 ^kForty years you sustained them in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing. Their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell.

Luke 22:35
