4For day and night your ihand was heavy upon me;
my strength was dried up
Hebrew  my vitality was changed
as by the heat of summer.  Selah
5 I kacknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I lwill confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.  Selah

Psalms 73:14-15

14For all the day long I have been mstricken
and nrebuked oevery morning.
15If I had said, “I will speak thus,”
I would have betrayed pthe generation of your children.

Psalms 89:30-34

30 qIf his children forsake my law
and do not walk according to my rules,
Or  my just decrees

31if they violate my statutes
and do not keep my commandments,
32then I will punish their transgression with sthe rod
and their iniquity with stripes,
33but I will not remove from him my steadfast love
or be false to my faithfulness.
34I will not violate my tcovenant
or alter the word that went forth from my lips.

that I might learn your statutes.

24 yWhoever spares the rod hates his son,
but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.
