Deuteronomy 9:7

7Remember and do not forget how you provoked the Lord your God to wrath in the wilderness. aFrom the day you came out of the land of Egypt until you came to this place, you have been rebellious against the Lord.

Deuteronomy 9:24

24 bYou have been rebellious against the Lord from the day that I knew you.

Deuteronomy 31:27

27For I know how rebellious and cstubborn you are. Behold, even today while I am yet alive with you, dyou have been rebellious against the Lord. How much more after my death!

Deuteronomy 32:15-20

15 “But eJeshurun grew fat, and fkicked;
gyou grew fat, stout, and sleek;
hthen he forsook God iwho made him
and scoffed at jthe Rock of his salvation.
16 kThey stirred him to jealousy with strange gods;
with abominations they provoked him to anger.
17 lThey sacrificed to demons that were no gods,
to gods they had never known,
to mnew gods that had come recently,
whom your fathers had never dreaded.
18You were unmindful of nthe Rock that bore
Or fathered
you,
and you pforgot the God who gave you birth.
19 q“The Lord saw it and spurned them,
because of the provocation of rhis sons and his daughters.
20And he said, s‘I will hide my face from them;
I will see what their end will be,
for they are a perverse generation,
children in whom is no faithfulness.

Judges 2:11-19

Israel’s Unfaithfulness

11 tAnd the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals. 12 uAnd they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt. vThey went after other gods, from among the gods of the peoples who were around them, and wbowed down to them. xAnd they provoked the Lord to anger. 13They abandoned the Lord yand served the Baals and the Ashtaroth. 14 zSo the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he aagave them over to plunderers, who plundered them. abAnd he sold them into the hand of their surrounding enemies, acso that they could no longer withstand their enemies. 15Whenever they marched out, the hand of the Lord was against them for harm, as the Lord had warned, adand as the Lord had sworn to them. And they were in terrible distress.

The Lord Raises Up Judges

16 aeThen the Lord raised up judges, afwho saved them out of the hand of those who plundered them. 17Yet they did not listen to their judges, for agthey whored after other gods and bowed down to them. ahThey soon turned aside from the way in which their fathers had walked, who had obeyed the commandments of the Lord, and they did not do so. 18Whenever the Lord raised up judges for them, aithe Lord was with the judge, and he saved them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge. ajFor the Lord was moved to pity by aktheir groaning because of those who afflicted and oppressed them. 19But alwhenever the judge died, they turned back and were more corrupt than their fathers, going after other gods, serving them and bowing down to them. They did not drop any of their practices or their stubborn ways.

Jeremiah 3:25

25 amLet us lie down in our shame, and let our dishonor cover us. For anwe have sinned against the Lord our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even to this day, and we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.”

Jeremiah 7:22-28

22For in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I did not speak to your fathers or command them aoconcerning burnt offerings and sacrifices. 23But this command I gave them: apObey my voice, and aqI will be your God, and you shall be my people. arAnd walk in all the way that I command you, asthat it may be well with you.’ 24 atBut they did not obey or incline their ear, aubut walked in their own counsels and avthe stubbornness of their evil hearts, and awwent backward and not forward. 25From the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt to this day, axI have persistently sent all my servants the prophets to them, day after day. 26 ayYet they did not listen to me or incline their ear, azbut stiffened their neck. baThey did worse than their fathers.

27 bb“So you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. bcYou shall call to them, but they will not answer you. 28And you shall say to them, ‘This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the Lord their God, and did not accept discipline; bdtruth has perished; it is cut off from their lips.

Jeremiah 32:30

30For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done nothing but evil in my sight befrom their youth. The children of Israel have done nothing but bfprovoke me to anger bgby the work of their hands, declares the Lord.
