Ecclesiastes 1:2

2 aVanity
The Hebrew term hebel, translated vanity or vain, refers concretely to a “mist,” “vapor,” or “mere breath,” and metaphorically to something that is fleeting or elusive (with different nuances depending on the context). It appears five times in this verse and in 29 other verses in Ecclesiastes
of vanities, says cthe Preacher,
dvanity of vanities! eAll is vanity.

1 John 2:16-17

16For all that is in the worldfthe desires of the flesh and gthe desires of the eyes and pride of life
Or  pride in possessions
is not from the Father but is from the world.
17And ithe world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
