4 Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from a man’s envy of his neighbor. This also is ^avanity ^{▼▼The Hebrew term hebel can refer to a “vapor” or “mere breath”; also verses 7, 8, 16 (see note on 1:2)} and a striving after wind.

Matthew 26:8-9

8 And when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? 9 For this could have been sold for a large sum and ^cgiven to the poor.”

John 12:4-5
