Ecclesiastes 9:1-2

Death Comes to All

1 But all this I laid to heart, examining it all, ^ahow the righteous and the wise and their deeds are ^bin the hand of God. Whether it is love or hate, man does not know; both are before him. 2 ^cIt is the same for all, since ^dthe same event happens to the righteous and the wicked, to the good and the evil, ^{▼▼Septuagint, Syriac, Vulgate; Hebrew lacks and the evil} to the clean and the unclean, to him who sacrifices and him who does not sacrifice. As the good one is, so is the sinner, and he who ^fswears is as he who shuns an oath.

Jeremiah 24:5-7

5 “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Like these good figs, so I will regard as good the exiles from Judah, ^gwhom I have sent away from this place to the land of the Chaldeans. 6 ^hI will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land. ⁱI will build them up, and not tear them down; ^jI will plant them, and not pluck them up. 7 ^kI will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord, ^land they shall be my people ^mand I will be their God, ⁿfor they shall return to me with their whole heart.
