Ephesians 6:5-10

Bondservants and Masters

5 ^aBondservants, ^{▼▼Or slaves; also verse 6 (for the contextual rendering of the Greek word doulos, see Preface)} obey your earthly masters ^{▼▼Or your masters according to the flesh} with fear and trembling, ^dwith a sincere heart, ^eas you would Christ, 6 not by the way of eye-service, as ^fpeople-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7 rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, 8 ^gknowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, ^hwhether he is a bondservant ^{▼▼Or slave (for the contextual rendering of the Greek word doulos, see Preface)} or is free. 9 Masters, do the same to them, ^jand stop your threatening, knowing that ^khe who is both their Master ^{▼▼Greek Lord} and yours is in heaven, and that ^mthere is no partiality with him.
