Esther Agrees to Help the Jews

1When Mordecai learned all that had been done, Mordecai tore his clothes aand put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and he cried out with a loud and bitter cry. 2He went up to the entrance of the king’s gate, for no one was allowed to enter the king’s gate clothed in sackcloth. 3And in every province, wherever the king’s command and his decree reached, there was great mourning among the Jews, bwith fasting and weeping and lamenting, and many of them clay in sackcloth and ashes.

Esther 8:15

15Then Mordecai went out from the presence of the king din royal robes of blue and white, with a great golden crown

Esther 9:22

22as the days on which the Jews got relief from their enemies, and as the month that had been turned for them from sorrow into gladness and from mourning into ha holiday; that they should make them days of feasting and gladness, days for sending gifts of food to one another and gifts to the poor.

Ezekiel 16:8-13

8“When I passed by you again and saw you, behold, you were at the age for love, and mI spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your nakedness; I made my vow to you nand entered into a covenant with you, declares the Lord God, oand you became mine. 9Then I bathed you with water and washed off your blood from you and panointed you with oil. 10 qI clothed you also with embroidered cloth and shod you with fine leather. I wrapped you in fine linen and covered you with silk.

11 sAnd I adorned you with ornaments and tput bracelets on your wrists and a chain on your neck. 12And I put a ring on your nose and earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown on your head. 13Thus you were adorned with gold and silver, and your clothing was of fine linen and silk and embroidered cloth. uYou ate fine flour and honey and oil. vYou grew exceedingly beautiful and advanced to royalty.
