14and amade their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and brick, and in all kinds of work in the field. In all their work they ruthlessly made them work as slaves.

Joshua 9:23

23Now therefore you are cursed, and some of you shall never be anything but servants, bcutters of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God.”

Judges 8:6-7

6And the officials of Succoth said, c“Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna already in your hand, dthat we should give bread to your army?” 7So Gideon said, “Well then, when the Lord has given Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand, eI will flail your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers.”

Judges 8:16-17

16And he took the elders of the city, and he took thorns of the wilderness and briers and with them taught the men of Succoth a lesson. 17 fAnd he broke down the tower of Penuel and killed the men of the city.

1 Kings 9:21

21 gtheir descendants who were left after them in the land, hwhom the people of Israel were unable to devote to destruction
That is, set apart ( devote) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)
jthese Solomon drafted to be kslaves, and so they are to this day.
