12For aI will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on ball the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: cI am the Lord.

23 dFor the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians, and when he sees the blood on ethe lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and fwill not allow the destroyer to enter your houses to strike you.

The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn

29 gAt midnight the hLord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, ifrom the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock.

1 Chronicles 21:14-18

Then David and the elders, lclothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces. 17And David said to God, “Was it not I who gave command to number the people? It is I who have sinned and done great evil. But these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand, O Lord my God, be against me and against my father’s house. But do not let the plague be on your people.”

David Builds an Altar

18Now mthe angel of the Lord had commanded Gad to say to David that David should go up and raise an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

2 Chronicles 32:21

21And the Lord sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty warriors and commanders and officers in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with nshame of face to his own land. And when he came into the house of his god, some of his own sons struck him down there with the sword.
