Exodus 12:26-27

26And awhen your children say to you, ‘What do you mean by this service?’ 27you shall say, b‘It is the sacrifice of the Lord’s Passover, for he passed over the houses of the people of Israel in Egypt, when he struck the Egyptians but spared our houses.’” And the people cbowed their heads and worshiped.

Exodus 13:14-15

14 dAnd when in time to come your son asks you, ‘What does this mean?’ you shall say to him, e‘By a strong hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, from the house of fslavery. 15For when Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the gLord killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of animals. Therefore I sacrifice to the Lord all the males that first open the womb, but hall the firstborn of my sons I redeem.’

Deuteronomy 4:9

9 iOnly take care, and jkeep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. kMake them known to your children and your children’s children

Deuteronomy 31:19-30

19Now therefore write lthis song and mteach it to the people of Israel. Put it in their mouths, that this song may be na witness for me against the people of Israel. 20For when I have brought them into the land oflowing with milk and honey, which I swore to give to their fathers, and they have eaten and are full and pgrown fat, qthey will turn to other gods and serve them, and rdespise me and sbreak my covenant. 21And when many evils and troubles have come upon them, this song shall confront them as ta witness (for it will live unforgotten in the mouths of their offspring). For uI know what they are inclined to do even today, before I have brought them into the land that I swore to give.” 22So Moses wrote this song the same day and taught it to the people of Israel.

23 vAnd the Lord
Hebrew he
commissioned Joshua the son of Nun and said, x“Be strong and courageous, for you shall bring the people of Israel into the land that I swore to give them. yI will be with you.”

24When Moses had finished zwriting the words of this law in a book to the very end, 25Moses commanded aathe Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, 26Take this Book of the Law aband put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for aca witness against you. 27For I know how rebellious and adstubborn you are. Behold, even today while I am yet alive with you, aeyou have been rebellious against the Lord. How much more after my death! 28Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes and your officers, that I may speak afthese words in their ears and agcall heaven and earth to witness against them. 29For I know that after my death ahyou will surely act corruptly and turn aside from the way that I have commanded you. And aiin the days to come ajevil will befall you, because you will do what is evil in the sight of the Lord, akprovoking him to anger through the work of your hands.”

The Song of Moses

30Then Moses spoke the words of this song until they were finished, in the ears of all the assembly of Israel:

Joshua 4:6-7

6that this may be a sign among you. alWhen your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’ 7then you shall tell them that amthe waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. So these stones shall be to the people of Israel ana memorial forever.”

Joshua 4:21-24

21And he said to the people of Israel, aoWhen your children ask their fathers in times to come, ‘What do these stones mean?’ 22then you shall let your children know, apIsrael passed over this Jordan on dry ground.’ 23For the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, aqwhich he dried up for us until we passed over, 24 arso that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is asmighty, that you may atfear the Lord your God forever.”
Or all the days

Psalms 78:4-8

4We will not avhide them from their children,
but awtell to the coming generation
the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might,
and axthe wonders that he has done.
5 He established aya testimony in azJacob
and appointed a law in baIsrael,
which he commanded our fathers
to teach to their children,
6that bbthe next generation might know them,
the children yet unborn,
and arise and tell them to their children,
7so that they should set their hope in God
and not forget bcthe works of God,
but bdkeep his commandments;
8and that they should not be belike their fathers,
bfa stubborn and rebellious generation,
a generation bgwhose heart was not steadfast,
whose spirit was not faithful to God.
