The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn

29 aAt midnight the bLord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, cfrom the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock. 30And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians. And there was da great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where someone was not dead.

2 Samuel 24:16

16And when ethe angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem fto destroy it, gthe Lord relented from the calamity and said to the angel hwho was working destruction among the people, β€œIt is enough; now stay your hand.” And ithe angel of the Lord was by the threshing floor of jAraunah the Jebusite.

1 Chronicles 21:12

12either kthree years of famine, or three months of devastation by your foes while the sword of your enemies overtakes you, or else three days of the sword of the Lord, pestilence on the land, with the angel of the Lord destroying throughout all the territory of Israel.’ Now decide what answer I shall return to him who sent me.”

1 Chronicles 21:16

16And David lifted his eyes and saw the angel of the Lord standing between earth and heaven, and in his hand a drawn sword stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, lclothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.

2 Chronicles 32:21-22

21And the Lord sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty warriors and commanders and officers in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with mshame of face to his own land. And when he came into the house of his god, some of his own sons struck him down there with the sword. 22So the Lord saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all his enemies, and he provided for them on every side.

Psalms 35:5-6

5Let them be like nchaff before the wind,
with the angel of the Lord driving them away!
6Let their way be dark and oslippery,
with the angel of the Lord pursuing them!
