The Feast of Unleavened Bread

3Then Moses said to the people, aRemember this day in which you came out from Egypt, out of the house of slavery, bfor by a strong hand the Lord brought you out from this place. cNo leavened bread shall be eaten. 4Today, in the month of dAbib, you are going out. 5And when the Lord brings you into ethe land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which fhe swore to your fathers to give you, a land gflowing with milk and honey, hyou shall keep this service in this month. 6 iSeven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a feast to the Lord. 7Unleavened bread shall be eaten for seven days; no leavened bread shall be seen with you, and no leaven shall be seen with you in all your territory. 8 jYou shall tell your son on that day, ‘It is because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’

Esther 3:12-13

12 kThen the king’s scribes were summoned on the thirteenth day of the first month, and an edict, according to all that Haman commanded, was written to the king’s lsatraps and to the governors over all the provinces and to the officials of all the peoples, mto every province in its own script and every people in its own language. It was written nin the name of King Ahasuerus oand sealed with the king’s signet ring. 13Letters were sent pby couriers to all the king’s provinces with instruction qto destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all Jews, young and old, women and children, rin one day, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, sand to plunder their goods.
