Exodus 14:17-18

17And aI will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they shall go in after them, and bI will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, his chariots, and his horsemen. 18And the Egyptians cshall know that I am the Lord, dwhen I have gotten glory over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”

Exodus 14:28

28The ewaters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen; of all the host of Pharaoh that had followed them into the sea, fnot one of them remained.

Joshua 11:4-8

4And they came out with all their troops, a great horde, in number glike the sand that is on the seashore, with very many horses and chariots. 5And all these kings joined their forces and came and encamped together at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel.

6And the Lord said to Joshua, h“Do not be afraid of them, for tomorrow at this time I will give over all of them, slain, to Israel. You shall ihamstring their horses and burn their jchariots with fire.” 7So Joshua and all his warriors came ksuddenly against them by the waters of Merom and fell upon them. 8And the Lord gave them into the hand of Israel, who struck them and chased them as far as lGreat Sidon and mMisrephoth-maim, and eastward as far as the Valley of nMizpeh. And they struck them until he left none remaining.

Judges 7:2

2The Lord said to Gideon, “The people with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, olest Israel boast over me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’

Judges 7:12-25

12And the Midianites and the Amalekites and pall the people of the East lay along the valley like locusts in abundance, and their camels were without number, qas the sand that is on the seashore in abundance. 13When Gideon came, behold, a man was telling a dream to his comrade. And he said, “Behold, I dreamed a dream, and behold, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian and came to the tent and struck it so that it fell and turned it upside down, so that the tent lay flat.” 14And his comrade answered, “This is no other than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel; God has given into his hand Midian and all the camp.”

15As soon as Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped. And he returned to the camp of Israel and said, “Arise, for the Lord has given the host of Midian into your hand.” 16And he divided the 300 men into three companies and put trumpets into the hands of all of them and empty jars, with rtorches inside the jars. 17And he said to them, “Look at me, and do likewise. When I come to the outskirts of the camp, do as I do. 18When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then blow the trumpets also on every side of all the camp and shout, s‘For the Lord and for Gideon.’”

Gideon Defeats Midian

19So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outskirts of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, when they had just set the watch. And they blew the trumpets and smashed the jars that were in their hands. 20Then the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the jars. They held in their left hands the torches, and in their right hands the trumpets to blow. tAnd they cried out, “A sword for the Lord and for Gideon!” 21Every man stood in his place around the camp, uand all the army ran. They cried out and fled. 22 vWhen they blew the 300 trumpets, wthe Lord set xevery man’s sword against his comrade and against all the army. And the army fled as far as Beth-shittah toward Zererah,

23And the men of Israel were called out from Naphtali and from Asher and from all Manasseh, and they pursued after Midian.

24 zGideon sent messengers throughout aaall the hill country of Ephraim, saying, “Come down against the Midianites and capture the waters against them, as far as abBeth-barah, and also the Jordan.” So all the men of Ephraim were called out, and they captured the waters as far as Beth-barah, and also the Jordan. 25And they captured acthe two princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb. They killed Oreb adat the rock of Oreb, and Zeeb they killed at the winepress of Zeeb. Then they pursued Midian, and they brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon aeacross the Jordan.

1 Samuel 14:8-16

8Then Jonathan said, “Behold, we will cross over to the men, and we will show ourselves to them. 9If they say to us, ‘Wait until we come to you,’ then we will stand still in our place, and we will not go up to them. 10But if they say, ‘Come up to us,’ then we will go up, for the Lord has given them into our hand. And this shall be the sign to us.” 11So both of them showed themselves to the garrison of the Philistines. And the Philistines said, “Look, Hebrews are coming afout of the holes where they have hidden themselves.” 12And the men of the garrison hailed Jonathan and his armor-bearer and said, “Come up to us, and we will show you a thing.” And Jonathan said to his armor-bearer, “Come up after me, for the Lord has given them into the hand of Israel.” 13Then Jonathan climbed up on his hands and feet, and his armor-bearer after him. And they fell before Jonathan, and his armor-bearer killed them after him. 14And that first strike, which Jonathan and his armor-bearer made, killed about twenty men within as it were half a furrow’s length in an acre

15And there was a panic in the camp, in the field, and among all the people. The garrison and even ahthe raiders trembled, the earth quaked, and it became a very great panic.
