18But he said, “It is not the sound of fshouting for victory, or the sound of the cry of defeat, but the sound of singing that I hear.” 19And as soon as he came near the camp and gsaw the calf and the dancing, Moses’ anger burned hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain.1 Chronicles 15:16
16David also commanded the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brothers as the singers who should play loudly on hmusical instruments, on harps and lyres and cymbals, to raise sounds of joy.1 Chronicles 15:28
28So all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, to the sound of the horn, itrumpets, and cymbals, and made loud music on jharps and lyres.1 Chronicles 16:5-6
5 kAsaph was the chief, and second to him were Zechariah, Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel, who were to play harps and lyres; Asaph was to sound the cymbals, 6and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests were to blow trumpets regularly before the ark of the covenant of God.1 Chronicles 25:1-6

1David and the chiefs of the service also set apart for the service the sons of lAsaph, and of mHeman, and of nJeduthun, who oprophesied with lyres, with pharps, and with cymbals. Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, swho prophesied with the lyre in thanksgiving and praise to the Lord. 4Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth. 5All these were the sons of Heman tthe king’s seer, according to the promise of God to exalt him, for God had given Heman fourteen sons and three daughters. 6They were all under the direction of their father in the music in the house of the Lord with cymbals, uharps, and lyres for the service of the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the order of the king. 2 Chronicles 29:25
25 vAnd he stationed the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, harps, and lyres, waccording to the commandment of David and of Gad xthe king’s seer and of yNathan the prophet, for the commandment was from the Lord through his prophets.
