Exodus 15:23-24

23When they came to aMarah, they could not drink the water of Marah because it was bitter; therefore it was named Marah.
 Marah means bitterness
24And the people cgrumbled against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?”

Exodus 16:2-3

2And the whole congregation of the people of Israel dgrumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness, 3and the people of Israel said to them, eWould that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, fwhen we sat by the meat pots and ate bread to the full, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

Exodus 17:2-3

2 gTherefore the people quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.” And Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you htest the Lord?” 3But the people thirsted there for water, and ithe people grumbled against Moses and said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?”

1And jthe people complained in the hearing of the Lord about their misfortunes, and when the Lord heard it, khis anger was kindled, and lthe fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed some outlying parts of the camp.

The People Rebel

1Then all the congregation raised a loud cry, and the people mwept that night. 2And all the people of Israel ngrumbled against Moses and Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, “Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or owould that we had died in this wilderness! 3Why is the Lord bringing us into this land, to fall by the sword? pOur wives and our little ones will become a prey. Would it not be better for us to go back to Egypt?” 4And they said to one another, q“Let us choose a leader and rgo back to Egypt.”

Numbers 16:41

41But on the next day all the congregation of the people of Israel sgrumbled against Moses and against Aaron, saying, “You have killed the people of the Lord.”
