Exodus 15:9-10

9The enemy said, a‘I will pursue, I will overtake,
I bwill divide the spoil, my desire shall have its fill of them.
I will draw my sword; my hand shall destroy them.’
10You cblew with your wind; the dsea covered them;
they sank like lead in the mighty waters.

Job 21:14-15

14They say to God, eDepart from us!
We do not desire the knowledge of your ways.
15 fWhat is the Almighty, that we should serve him?
And what gprofit do we get if we pray to him?’

Psalms 10:2-7

2 In arrogance the wicked hotly pursue the poor;
let them hbe caught in the schemes that they have devised.
3For the wicked iboasts of the desires of his soul,
and the one greedy for gain jcurses
Or  and he blesses the one greedy for gain
and lrenounces the Lord.
4In the pride of his face
Or  of his anger
the wicked does not nseek him;
Or  the wicked says, “He will not call to account”

all his thoughts are, p“There is no God.”
5His ways prosper at all times;
your judgments are on high, qout of his sight;
as for all his foes, he rpuffs at them.
6He ssays in his heart, “I shall not be moved;
throughout all generations I tshall not meet adversity.”
7 uHis mouth is filled with cursing and vdeceit and woppression;
xunder his tongue are ymischief and ziniquity.

Psalms 52:1

The Steadfast Love of God Endures

To the choirmaster. A Maskil
Probably a musical or liturgical term
of David, when abDoeg, the Edomite, came and told Saul, “David has come to the house of Ahimelech.”

1 Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man?
The steadfast love of God endures all the day.

Isaiah 10:13-15

13 acFor he says:

“By the strength of my hand I have done it,
and by my wisdom, for I have understanding;
I remove the boundaries of peoples,
and plunder their treasures;
like a bull I bring down those who sit on thrones.
14My hand has found like a nest
the wealth of the peoples;
and as one gathers eggs that have been forsaken,
so I have gathered all the earth;
and there was none that moved a wing
or opened the mouth or chirped.”
15 Shall adthe axe boast over him who hews with it,
or the saw magnify itself against him who wields it?
As if a rod should wield him who lifts it,
or as if a staff should lift him who is not wood!

Isaiah 37:24-25

24By your servants you have mocked the Lord,
and you have said, aeWith my many chariots
I have gone up the heights of the mountains,
to the far recesses of Lebanon,
afto cut down its tallest cedars,
its choicest cypresses,
to come to its remotest height,
its most fruitful forest.
25I dug wells
and drank waters,
to dry up with the sole of my foot
all agthe streams ahof Egypt.
