Jethro’s Advice

1 aJethro, bthe priest of Midian, Mosesfather-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses and for Israel his people, how the Lord had brought Israel out of Egypt.

Nehemiah 9:9-15

9 c“And you saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt and heard dtheir cry at the Red Sea, 10 eand performed signs and wonders against Pharaoh and all his servants and all the people of his land, for you knew that fthey acted arrogantly against our fathers. And gyou made a name for yourself, as it is to this day. 11 hAnd you divided the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on dry land, and you cast their pursuers into the depths, ias a stone into mighty waters. 12By ja pillar of cloud you led them in the day, and by a pillar of fire in the night to light for them the way in which they should go. 13 kYou came down on Mount Sinai land spoke with them from heaven and gave them mright rules and true laws, good statutes and commandments, 14 nand you made known to them your holy Sabbath and commanded them commandments and statutes and a law by Moses your servant. 15 oYou gave them bread from heaven for their hunger and pbrought water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and you qtold them to go in to possess the land that you had sworn to give them.

16 rCome and hear, all you who fear God,
and I will tell what he has done for my soul.

Psalms 71:17-20

17 O God, from my youth you have taught me,
and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.
18So even to sold age and gray hairs,
O God, tdo not forsake me,
until I proclaim your might to another generation,
your power to all those to come.
19Your urighteousness, O God,
reaches the high heavens.
You who have done vgreat things,
O God, wwho is like you?
20You who have xmade me see many troubles and calamities
will yrevive me again;
from the depths of the earth
you will bring me up again.

Tell of All His Wonderful Works

1 zOh give thanks to the Lord; aacall upon his name;
abmake known his deeds among the peoples!
2Sing to him, sing praises to him;
actell of all his wondrous works!

Psalms 145:4-12

4 adOne generation shall commend your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts.
5On aethe glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
6They shall speak of afthe might of your awesome deeds,
and I will declare your greatness.
7They shall pour forth the fame of your agabundant goodness
and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.
8 The Lord is ahgracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
9The Lord is aigood to all,
and his mercy is over all that he has made.
10 ajAll your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord,
and all your aksaints shall bless you!
11They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom
and tell of your power,
12to almake known to the children of man your
Hebrew his; also next line
anmighty deeds,
and aothe glorious splendor of your kingdom.
