Exodus 19:18

18Now aMount Sinai was wrapped in smoke because the Lord had descended on it in fire. The smoke of it went up like the smoke of a kiln, and bthe whole mountain trembled greatly.

Exodus 20:18

18Now when all the people saw cthe thunder and the flashes of lightning and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking, the people were afraid

Deuteronomy 4:11-12

11And eyou came near and stood at the foot of the mountain, while fthe mountain burned with fire to the heart of heaven, wrapped in darkness, cloud, and gloom. 12Then gthe Lord spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard the sound of words, hbut saw no form; ithere was only a voice.

Deuteronomy 5:22-25

22These words the Lord spoke to all your assembly jat the mountain out of the midst of the fire, the cloud, and the thick darkness, with a loud voice; and he added no more. And khe wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me. 23And las soon as you heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, you came near to me, all the heads of your tribes, and your elders. 24And you said, ‘Behold, the Lord our God has shown us his glory and mgreatness, and nwe have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire. This day we have seen God speak with man, and man ostill live. 25Now therefore why should we die? For this great fire will consume us. pIf we hear the voice of the Lord our God any more, we shall die.
