2 cFor they have taken some of their daughters to be wives for themselves and for their sons, so that the dholy race
Hebrew offspring

Isaiah 1:11-16

11 gWhat to me is the multitude of your sacrifices?
says the Lord;
I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
and the fat of well-fed beasts;
I do not delight in the blood of bulls,
or of lambs, or of goats.
12 “When you come to happear before me,
who has required of you
this trampling of my courts?
13Bring no more vain offerings;
incense is an abomination to me.
iNew moon and Sabbath and the jcalling of convocations
I cannot endure kiniquity and lsolemn assembly.
14Your mnew moons and your appointed feasts
my soul hates;
they have become a burden to me;
I am weary of bearing them.
15When you nspread out your hands,
I will hide my eyes from you;
oeven though you make many prayers,
I will not listen;
pyour hands are full of blood.
16 qWash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
rcease to do evil,

Jeremiah 7:3-12

3Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: sAmend your ways and your deeds, and I will let you dwell in this place. 4 tDo not trust in these deceptive words: ‘This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.’

5For if you truly uamend your ways and your deeds, if you truly vexecute justice one with another, 6if you wdo not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow, xor shed innocent blood in this place, yand if you do not go after other gods to your own harm, 7 zthen I will let you dwell in this place, aain the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever.

8Behold, you trust in deceptive words to no avail. 9 abWill you steal, murder, commit adultery, acswear falsely, admake offerings to Baal, aeand go after other gods that you have not known, 10and then come and stand before me in this house, afwhich is called by my name, and say, ‘We are delivered!’—only to go on doing all these abominations? 11 agHas this house, ahwhich is called by my name, aibecome a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I myself have seen it, declares the Lord. 12Go now to ajmy place that was in Shiloh, akwhere I made my name dwell at first, and alsee what I did to it because of the evil of my people Israel.

Matthew 3:9-10

9And do not presume to say to yourselves, am‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you, God is able from anthese stones to raise up children for Abraham. 10Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. aoEvery tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Romans 2:28-29

28For apno one is a Jew aqwho is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical. 29But a Jew is one arinwardly, and ascircumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. atHis praise is not from man but from God.
