God Hears Israel’s Groaning

23 aDuring those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel bgroaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. cTheir cry for rescue from slavery came up to God.

Exodus 5:18-19

18Go now and work. No straw will be given you, but you must still deliver the same number of bricks.” 19The foremen of the people of Israel saw that they were in trouble when they said, “You shall by no means reduce your number of bricks, your daily task each day.”

Judges 10:16-18

16So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord, and dhe became impatient over the misery of Israel.

17Then the Ammonites were called to arms, and they encamped in Gilead. Judges 16:21

21And the Philistines seized him and gouged out his eyes and brought him down to Gaza and bound him with bronze shackles. gAnd he ground at the mill in the prison.

30And Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines.” Then he bowed with all his strength, and the house fell upon the lords and upon all the people who were in it. So the dead whom he killed at his death were more than those whom he had killed during his life.
