7 a“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

1 Kings 22:6

Jeremiah 14:13-14

Lying Prophets

13Then I said: “Ah, Lord God, behold, the prophets csay to them, ‘You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you assured peace in this place.’” 14And the Lord said to me: “The dprophets are prophesying lies in my name. eI did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, fworthless divination, and gthe deceit of their own minds.

Jeremiah 28:2-3

2Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: hI have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon. 3 iWithin jtwo years I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the Lord’s house, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon.

Ezekiel 13:2-6

2 kSon of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel, who are prophesying, and say to those lwho prophesy from their own hearts: ‘Hear the word of the Lord!’ 3Thus says the Lord God, Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! 4Your prophets have been like jackals among ruins, O Israel. 5 mYou have not gone up into the breaches, or built up a wall for the house of Israel, that it might stand in battle in the day of the Lord. 6 nThey have seen false visions and lying divinations. They say, ‘Declares the Lord,’ owhen the Lord has not sent them, and yet they expect him to fulfill their word.

Ezekiel 13:22

22 pBecause you have disheartened the righteous falsely, although I have not grieved him, and qyou have encouraged the wicked, that rhe should not turn from his evil way to save his life,

2 Corinthians 11:3

3But I am afraid that sas the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts twill be led astray from a usincere and vpure devotion to Christ.
