Exodus 20:8-11

8 ^a“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 ^bSix days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the ^cseventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the ^dsojourner who is within your gates. 11 For ^ein six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Exodus 31:15-16

15 ^fSix days shall work be done, but ^gthe seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. ^hWhoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall be put to death. 16 Therefore the people of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath throughout their generations, as a covenant forever.

Luke 13:14

14 But ⁱthe ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus ^jhad healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, ^k“There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.”
