Exodus 20:8-11

8 ^a“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 ^bSix days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the ^cseventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the ^dsojourner who is within your gates. 11 For ^ein six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath.

1 ^fIt is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to your name, ^gO Most High;
2 to declare your ^hsteadfast love in ⁱthe morning,
and your ^jfaithfulness by ^knight,
3 to the music of ^lthe lute and ^mthe harp,
to the melody of ⁿthe lyre.
4 For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your ^owork;
at ^pthe works of your hands I sing for joy.
