Exodus 22:20

Leviticus 27:21

21 But the field, ^cwhen it is released in the jubilee, shall be a holy gift to the Lord, like a field that has been ^ddevoted. The priest shall be in ^epossession of it.

Numbers 21:2-3

2 ^fAnd Israel vowed a vow to the Lord and said, “If you will indeed give this people into my hand, then I will devote their cities to destruction.” ^{▼▼That is, set apart ( devote) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction); also verse 3} 3 And the Lord heeded the voice of Israel and gave over the Canaanites, and they devoted them and their cities to destruction. Deuteronomy 7:1-2

A Chosen People

1 “When the ^jLord your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it, and clears away many nations before you, ^kthe Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations ^lmore numerous and mightier than you, 2 ^mand when the Lord your God gives them over to you, and you defeat them, then you must ⁿdevote them to complete destruction. ^{▼▼That is, set apart ( devote) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)} ^pYou shall make no covenant with them and show no mercy to them.

Deuteronomy 13:15-16

15 you shall surely put the inhabitants of that city to the sword, devoting it to destruction, ^{▼▼That is, setting apart ( devoting) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)} all who are in it and its cattle, with the edge of the sword. 16 You shall gather all its spoil into the midst of its open square and ^rburn the city and all its spoil with fire, as a whole burnt offering to the Lord your God. Deuteronomy 25:19
