Exodus 22:21-24

21 a“You shall not wrong a sojourner or oppress him, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt. 22 bYou shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child. 23If you do mistreat them, and they ccry out to me, I will surely dhear their cry, 24and my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and eyour wives shall become widows and your children fatherless.

Exodus 23:9

9 f“You shall not oppress a sojourner. You know the heart of a sojourner, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

Deuteronomy 24:14-18

14“You shall not goppress a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the sojourners who are in your land within your towns. 15 hYou shall give him his wages on the same day, before the sun sets (for he is poor and counts on it), ilest he cry against you to the Lord, and you be guilty of sin.

16 jFathers shall not be put to death because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because of their fathers. Each one shall be put to death for his own sin.

17 k“You shall not pervert the justice due to the sojourner or to the fatherless, lor take a widow’s garment in pledge, 18but myou shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt and the Lord your God redeemed you from there; therefore I command you to do this.

Deuteronomy 27:19

19 n“‘Cursed be anyone who perverts the justice due to the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

Psalms 72:4

4May he defend the cause of the poor of the people,
give deliverance to the children of the needy,
and crush the oppressor!

Proverbs 22:22-23

22 oDo not rob the poor, because he is poor,
or pcrush the afflicted at qthe gate,
23for rthe Lord will plead their cause
and rob of life those who rob them.

Proverbs 23:10
