Exodus 23:33

33They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against me; for if you serve their gods, ait will surely be a snare to you.”

Deuteronomy 7:4-5

4for they would turn away your sons from following me, to serve other gods. bThen the anger of the Lord would be kindled against you, and he would destroy you cquickly. 5But thus shall you deal with them: dyou shall break down their altars and dash in pieces their epillars and chop down their fAsherim and gburn their carved images with fire.

Deuteronomy 12:30-31

30take care hthat you be not ensnared to follow them, after they have been destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire about their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods?—that I also may do the same.’ 31 iYou shall not worship the Lord your God in that way, for every jabominable thing that the Lord hates they have done for their gods, for kthey even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.

19 lAnd whoever will mnot listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him.

Joshua 23:13

13know for certain that nthe Lord your God will no longer drive out these nations before you, obut they shall be a snare and a trap for you, a whip on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good ground that the Lord your God has given you.
