And all the people answered with one voice and said, cAll the words that the Lord has spoken we will do.”
4And dMoses wrote down all the words of the Lord. He rose early in the morning and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve epillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. 5And he sent young men of the people of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to the Lord. 6And fMoses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he threw against the altar. 7Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it in the hearing of the people. And they said, gAll that the Lord has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient.” 8 hAnd Moses took the blood and threw it on the people and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

11your little ones, your wives, and the lsojourner who is in your camp, from mthe one who chops your wood to the one who draws your water, 12so that you may enter into the nsworn covenant of the Lord your God, which the Lord your God is making with you today, 13that he may oestablish you today as his people, and that phe may be your God, as he promised you, and qas he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. 14It is not with you alone rthat I am making this sworn covenant, 15but with whoever is standing here with us today before the Lord our God, sand with whoever is not here with us today.

6On that day I swore to them that vI would bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, a land wflowing with milk and honey, xthe most glorious of all lands. 7And I said to them, ' yCast away the detestable things zyour eyes feast on, every one of you, and do not defile yourselves with aathe idols of Egypt; abI am the Lord your God.' 8 acBut they rebelled against me and were not willing to listen to me. adNone of them cast away the detestable things their eyes feasted on, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt.

“Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them aeand spend my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
9 afBut I acted agfor the sake of my name, ahthat it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, aiin whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt. 10 ajSo I led them out of the land of Egypt and brought them into the wilderness. 11 akI gave them my statutes and made known to them my rules, alby which, if a person does them, he shall live. 12Moreover, I gave them ammy Sabbaths, as a sign between me and them, anthat they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them.

apBehold, the days are coming, declares the Lord,
when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah,
9not like the covenant that I made with their fathers
on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt.
For they did not continue in my covenant,
and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord.
10 aqFor this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
after those days, declares the Lord:
I will put my laws into their minds,
and arwrite them on their hearts,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
