Contributions for the Sanctuary

1The Lord said to Moses, 2 aSpeak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From bevery man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me.

Exodus 35:5

5 cTake from among you a contribution to the Lord. dWhoever is of a generous heart, let him bring the Lord’s contribution: gold, silver, and bronze;

Exodus 35:22

22So they came, both men and women. All who were of a willing heart brought brooches and earrings and signet rings and armlets, all sorts of gold objects, every man dedicating an offering of gold to the Lord.

Exodus 35:29

29 eAll the men and women, the people of Israel, whose heart moved them to bring anything for the work that the Lord had commanded by Moses to be done brought it as a freewill offering to the Lord.

Exodus 36:3

3And they received from Moses all the fcontribution that the people of Israel had brought for doing the work on the sanctuary. They still kept bringing him gfreewill offerings every morning,

1 Chronicles 29:3-9

3Moreover, in addition to all that I have provided for the holy house, I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, and because of my devotion to the house of my God I give it to the house of my God: 4 h3,000 talents
A  talent was about 75 pounds or 34 kilograms
of gold, of the gold of jOphir, and 7,000 talents of refined silver, for overlaying the walls of the house,

6Then mthe leaders of fathers’ houses made their freewill offerings, as did also the leaders of the tribes, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and nthe officers over the king’s work. 7They gave for the service of the house of God 5,000 talents and 10,000 odarics
A  daric was a coin weighing about 1/4 ounce or 8.5 grams
of gold, 10,000 talents of silver, 18,000 talents of bronze and 100,000 talents of iron.
8And whoever had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of the Lord, in the care of qJehiel the Gershonite. 9Then the people rejoiced because they had given willingly, for with a rwhole heart they had offered freely to the Lord. David the king also rejoiced greatly.

1 Chronicles 29:17

17I know, my God, sthat you test the heart and thave pleasure in uprightness. In the uprightness of my heart I have freely offered all these things, and now I have seen your people, who are present here, offering freely and joyously to you.

Ezra 1:6

6And all who were about them uaided them with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, with beasts, and with costly wares, besides all that was freely offered.

Ezra 2:69

69According to their ability they gave to vthe treasury of the work 61,000 darics
A  daric was a coin weighing about 1/4 ounce or 8.5 grams
of gold, 5,000 minas
A  mina was about 1 1/4 pounds or 0.6 kilogram
of silver, and 100 priestsgarments.

Ezra 7:16

16 ywith all the silver and gold that you shall find in the whole province of Babylonia, and zwith the freewill offerings of the people and the priests, vowed willingly for the house of their God that is in Jerusalem.
