Exodus 25:17-22

17 a“You shall make a mercy seat
Or cover
of pure gold. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth.
18And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of chammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. 19Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. dOf one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. 20 eThe cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. 21And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you. 22 fThere I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from gbetween the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel.

Exodus 40:20-21

20He htook the testimony and put it into the ark, and put the poles on the ark and set the mercy seat above on the ark. 21And he brought the ark into the tabernacle and iset up the veil of the screen, and screened jthe ark of the testimony, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

1 Kings 6:19

19The inner sanctuary he prepared in the innermost part of the house, to set there the ark of the covenant of the Lord.

2 Chronicles 5:7

7Then the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place, in the inner sanctuary of the house, in the Most Holy Place, underneath the wings of the cherubim.

Hebrews 9:5

5Above it were kthe cherubim of glory overshadowing lthe mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail.
