The Golden Calf

1When the people saw that Moses hdelayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him, iUp, make us gods who shall jgo before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

7And the Lord said to Moses, kGo down, for your people, whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have lcorrupted themselves.

11But mMoses implored the Lord his God and said, “O Lord, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?

Acts 7:35-36

35This Moses, whom they rejected, nsaying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’—this man God sent as both ruler and redeemer oby the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush. 36 pThis man led them out, performing qwonders and signs rin Egypt and sat the Red Sea and tin the wilderness for uforty years.
