The Visit of the Wise Men

9After listening to the king, they went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was. 10When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. 11And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, lthey offered him gifts, mgold and nfrankincense and omyrrh.

John 20:1-10

The Resurrection

1 rNow on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that sthe stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, tthe one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and uwe do not know where they have laid him.” 3 vSo Peter went out with the other disciple, and they were going toward the tomb. 4Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5And stooping to look in, he saw wthe linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. 6Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, 7and xthe face cloth, which had been on Jesus

8Then the other disciple, zwho had reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; 9for as yet aathey did not understand the Scripture, abthat he must rise from the dead. 10Then the disciples went back to their homes.
