Exodus 3:8-17

8 and ^aI have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and ^bto bring them up out of that land to a ^cgood and broad land, a land ^dflowing with milk and honey, to the place of ^ethe Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 9 And now, behold, ^fthe cry of the people of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the ^goppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. 10 ^hCome, I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” 11 But Moses said to God, ⁱ“Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” 12 He said, ^j“But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, ^kyou shall serve God on this mountain.”

13 Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?” 14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” ^{▼▼Or I am what I am, or I will be what I will be} And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ^m‘I am has sent me to you.’” 15 God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘The Lord, ^{▼▼The word Lord, when spelled with capital letters, stands for the divine name, YHWH, which is here connected with the verb hayah, “to be” in verse 14} the ^oGod of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is ^pmy name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations. 16 Go and ^qgather the elders of Israel together and say to them, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, ^r“I have observed you and what has been done to you in Egypt, 17 and I promise that ^sI will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, a land ^tflowing with milk and honey.”’

Leviticus 20:24

24 But ^uI have said to you, ‘You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land ^vflowing with milk and honey.’ I am the Lord your God, ^wwho has separated you from the peoples.

Deuteronomy 6:3

3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and be careful to do them, that it may go well with you, and that you may multiply greatly, ^xas the Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.

Deuteronomy 7:12-13

12 ^y“And because you listen to these rules and keep and do them, the Lord your God will keep with you ^zthe covenant and the steadfast love that he swore to your fathers. 13 He will ^aalove you, bless you, and multiply you. ^abHe will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your wine and your oil, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock, in the land that he swore to your fathers to give you.
