Exodus 30:1-10

The Altar of Incense

1 ^a“You shall make ^ban altar on which to burn incense; you shall make it of acacia wood. 2A cubit ▼

▼A  cubit was about 18 inches or 45 centimeters

shall be its length, and a cubit its breadth. It shall be square, and two cubits shall be its height. ^dIts horns shall be of one piece with it. 3You shall ^eoverlay it with pure gold, its top and around its sides and its horns. And you shall make a molding of gold around it. 4And you shall make two golden rings for it. Under its molding on two opposite sides of it you shall make them, and they shall be ^fholders for poles with which to carry it. 5You shall make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. 6And you shall put it in front of the veil that is above the ark of the testimony, in front of the ^gmercy seat that is above the testimony, where I will meet with you. 7And Aaron shall ^hburn fragrant incense on it. Every morning when he ⁱdresses the lamps he shall burn it, 8and when Aaron sets up the lamps at twilight, he shall burn it, a regular incense offering before the Lord throughout your generations. 9You shall not offer ^junauthorized incense on it, or a burnt offering, or a grain offering, and you shall not pour a drink offering on it. 10 ^kAaron shall make atonement on its horns once a year. With the blood of the ^lsin offering of atonement he shall make atonement for it once in the year throughout your generations. It is most holy to the Lord.”

Exodus 40:5

5 ^mAnd you shall put the golden altar for incense before the ark of the testimony, and set up the screen for the door of the tabernacle.

The High Priestly Prayer

1When Jesus had spoken these words, ^rhe lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, ^sthe hour has come; ^tglorify your Son that the Son may ^uglorify you, 2since ^vyou have given him authority over all flesh, ^wto give eternal life to all ^xwhom you have given him. 3 ^yAnd this is eternal life, ^zthat they know you, ^aathe only ^abtrue God, and ^acJesus Christ whom you have sent. 4I ^adglorified you on earth, ^aehaving accomplished the work that you gave me to do. 5And now, Father, ^afglorify me in your own presence with the glory ^agthat I had with you ^ahbefore the world existed.

6 ^ai“I have manifested your name to the people ^ajwhom you gave me out of the world. ^akYours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7Now they know that everything ^althat you have given me is from you. 8For I have given them ^amthe words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that ^anI came from you; and ^aothey have believed that you sent me. 9I am praying for them. ^apI am not praying for the world but for those ^aqwhom you have given me, for ^arthey are yours. 10 ^asAll mine are yours, and yours are mine, and ^atI am glorified in them. 11And I am no longer in the world, but ^authey are in the world, and ^avI am coming to you. ^awHoly Father, ^axkeep them in your name, ^aywhich you have given me, ^azthat they may be one, ^baeven as we are one. 12 ^bbWhile I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have ^bcguarded them, and ^bdnot one of them has been lost except ^bethe son of destruction, ^bfthat the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13But now ^bgI am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have ^bhmy joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 ^biI have given them your word, and ^bjthe world has hated them ^bkbecause they are not of the world, ^bljust as I am not of the world. 15I ^bmdo not ask that you ^bntake them out of the world, but that you ^bokeep them from ^bpthe evil one. ▼

20“I do not ^cbask for these only, but also for those ^ccwho will believe in me through their word, 21 ^cdthat they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that ^cethey also may be in ^cfus, so that the world ^cgmay believe that you have sent me. 22 ^chThe glory that you have given me ^ciI have given to them, ^cjthat they may be one even as we are one, 23 ^ckI in them and you in me, ^clthat they may become perfectly one, ^cmso that the world may know that you sent me and ^cnloved them even as ^coyou loved me. 24Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be ^cpwith me ^cqwhere I am, ^crto see my glory that you have given me because you loved me ^csbefore the foundation of the world. 25 ^ctO righteous Father, even though ^cuthe world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. 26 ^cvI made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love ^cwwith which you have loved me may be in them, and ^cxI in them.”

Hebrews 7:25

25Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost ▼
