Exodus 32:11-13

11But aMoses implored the Lord his God and said, “O Lord, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand? 12 bWhy should the Egyptians say, ‘With evil intent did he bring them out, to kill them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your burning anger and crelent from this disaster against your people. 13Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you dswore by your own self, and said to them, e‘I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have promised I will give to your offspring, and they shall inherit it forever.’”

Numbers 14:15-16

15Now if you kill this people as one man, then the nations who have heard your fame will say, 16‘It is because the Lord fwas not able to bring this people into the land that he swore to give to them that he has killed them in the wilderness.’

Joshua 7:9

9For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it and will surround us and gcut off our name from the earth. And what will you do for your great name?”

2 Kings 18:30

30Do not let Hezekiah make you trust in the Lord by saying, The Lord will surely deliver us, and this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.’

35Who among all the gods of the lands have delivered their lands out of my hand, hthat the Lord should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?’”

10“Thus shall you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah: ‘Do not let your God iin whom you trust deceive you by promising that jJerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria. 11Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, devoting them to destruction. And shall you be delivered? 12 kHave the gods of the nations delivered them, the nations that my fathers destroyed, lGozan, mHaran, Rezeph, and the people of nEden who were in Telassar?
