Exodus 32:19-20

19And as soon as he came near the camp and asaw the calf and the dancing, Mosesanger burned hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain. 20He took the calf that they had made and burned it with fire and ground it to powder and scattered it on the water and made the people of Israel drink it.

Numbers 25:6-11

6And behold, one of the people of Israel came and brought a Midianite woman to his family, in the sight of Moses and in the sight of the whole congregation of the people of Israel, while they were bweeping in the entrance of the tent of meeting. 7 cWhen Phinehas dthe son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose and left the congregation and took a spear in his hand 8and went after the man of Israel into the chamber and pierced both of them, the man of Israel and the woman through her belly. Thus the plague on the people of Israel was stopped. 9Nevertheless, ethose who died by the plague were twenty-four thousand.

The Zeal of Phinehas

10And the Lord said to Moses, 11Phinehas the son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, has turned back my wrath from the people of Israel, in that he fwas jealous with my jealousy among them, so that I did not consume the people of Israel in gmy jealousy.

1 Kings 19:10

10He said, “I have been very hjealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, ithrown down your altars, and jkilled your prophets with the sword, kand I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.”

1 Kings 19:14

14He said, l“I have been very jealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, mthrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.”

Job 32:2-3

2Then Elihu the son of Barachel nthe Buzite, of the family of Ram, burned with anger. He burned with anger at Job because he justified himself orather than God. 3He burned with anger also at Job’s three friends because they had found no answer, although they had pdeclared Job to be in the wrong.

Job 32:18-20

18For I am full of words;
the spirit within me constrains me.
19Behold, my belly is like wine that has no vent;
like new qwineskins ready to burst.
20 rI must speak, that I may find srelief;
I must open my lips and answer.

Psalms 69:9

9 For tzeal for your house has consumed me,
and uthe reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.
