Judges 17:1-5

Micah and the Levite

1There was a man of ethe hill country of Ephraim, whose name was Micah. 2And he said to his mother, “The 1,100 pieces of silver that were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse, and also spoke it in my ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it.” And his mother said, fBlessed be my son by the Lord.” 3And he restored the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother. And his mother said, “I dedicate the silver to the Lord from my hand for my son, to make ga carved image and ha metal image. Now therefore I will restore it to you.” 4So when he restored the money to his mother, his mother itook 200 pieces of silver and gave it to the silversmith, who made it into a carved image and a metal image. And it was in the house of Micah. 5And the man Micah had a shrine, and he made jan ephod and khousehold gods, and lordained

Isaiah 46:6

6 nThose who lavish gold from the purse,
and weigh out silver in the scales,
hire a goldsmith, and he makes it into a god;
othen they fall down and worship!

Hosea 8:4

4 pThey made kings, qbut not through me.
They set up princes, but I knew it not.
With their silver and gold they made idols
for their own destruction.

Hosea 13:2

2And now they sin more and more,
and rmake for themselves metal images,
idols skillfully made of their silver,
sall of them the work of craftsmen.
It is said of them,
“Those who offer human sacrifice tkiss calves!”
