Exodus 32:2-4

2So Aaron said to them, “Take off the arings of gold that are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me.” 3So all the people took off the rings of gold that were in their ears and brought them to Aaron. 4 bAnd he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden

Judges 17:4

4So when he restored the money to his mother, his mother etook 200 pieces of silver and gave it to the silversmith, who made it into a carved image and a metal image. And it was in the house of Micah.

Psalms 115:4-8

4 fTheir idols are silver and gold,
gthe work of human hands.
5They have mouths, hbut do not speak;
eyes, but do not see.
6They have ears, but do not hear;
noses, but do not smell.
7They have hands, but do not feel;
feet, but do not walk;

Isaiah 37:18-19

18Truly, O Lord, jthe kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations and their lands, 19and have cast their gods into the fire. For they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. Therefore they were destroyed.

Isaiah 41:6-7

6Everyone helps his neighbor
and says to his brother, “Be strong!”
7 kThe craftsman strengthens the goldsmith,
and he who smooths with the hammer him who strikes the anvil,
saying of the soldering, “It is good”;
and they strengthen it with nails lso that it cannot be moved.

Isaiah 44:10-12

10 mWho fashions a god or casts an idol that is profitable for nothing? 11 nBehold, all his companions shall be put to shame, and the craftsmen are only human. Let them all assemble, let them stand forth. They shall be terrified; they shall be put to shame together.

12 oThe ironsmith takes a cutting tool and works it over the coals. He fashions it with hammers and works it with his strong arm. He becomes hungry, and his strength fails; he drinks no water and is faint.

Isaiah 46:6-7

6 pThose who lavish gold from the purse,
and weigh out silver in the scales,
hire a goldsmith, and he makes it into a god;
qthen they fall down and worship!
7 rThey lift it to their shoulders, they carry it,
they set it in its place, and it stands there;
sit cannot move from its place.
If one cries to it, it does not answer
or save him from his trouble.
