Exodus 32:26-29

26then Moses stood in the gate of the camp and said, “Who is on the Lord’s side? Come to me.” And all the sons of Levi gathered around him. 27And he said to them, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel, ‘Put your sword on your side each of you, and go to and fro from gate to gate throughout the camp, and each of you akill his brother and his companion and his neighbor.’” 28And the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses. And that day about three thousand men of the people fell. 29And Moses said, “Today you have been bordained for the service of the Lord, each one at the cost of his son and of his brother, so that he might bestow a blessing upon you this day.”

Numbers 25:6-13

6And behold, one of the people of Israel came and brought a Midianite woman to his family, in the sight of Moses and in the sight of the whole congregation of the people of Israel, while they were cweeping in the entrance of the tent of meeting. 7 dWhen Phinehas ethe son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose and left the congregation and took a spear in his hand 8and went after the man of Israel into the chamber and pierced both of them, the man of Israel and the woman through her belly. Thus the plague on the people of Israel was stopped. 9Nevertheless, fthose who died by the plague were twenty-four thousand.

The Zeal of Phinehas

10And the Lord said to Moses, 11Phinehas the son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, has turned back my wrath from the people of Israel, in that he gwas jealous with my jealousy among them, so that I did not consume the people of Israel in hmy jealousy. 12Therefore say, iBehold, I give to him my covenant of peace, 13and it shall be to him and to jhis descendants after him the covenant of ka perpetual priesthood, because he was jealous for his God and made atonement for the people of Israel.’”

Judges 5:23

23 Curse Meroz, says the angel of the Lord,
curse its inhabitants thoroughly,
lbecause they did not come to the help of the Lord,
to the help of the Lord against the mighty.

1 Kings 18:39-40

39And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and said, m“The Lord, he is God; the Lord, he is God.” 40And Elijah said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape.” And they seized them. 15And when he departed from there, he met pJehonadab the son of qRechab coming to meet him. And he greeted him and said to him, “Is your heart true to my heart as mine is to yours?” And Jehonadab answered, “It is.” Jehu said,
