Exodus 32:4
4 aAnd he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden ▼▼Hebrew cast metal; also verse 8
calf. And they said, c“These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!” Exodus 32:8
8They have turned aside quickly out of the way that dI commanded them. They have made for themselves a golden calf and have worshiped it and sacrificed to it and said, ‘These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!’”1 Kings 12:28

The Folly of Idolatry
9 kAll who fashion idols are nothing, and the things they delight in do not profit. Their witnesses neither see nor know, that they may be put to shame. 10 lWho fashions a god or casts an idol that is profitable for nothing?
