Exodus 32:9-10

9And the Lord said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and behold, ait is a stiff-necked people. 10Now therefore blet me alone, that cmy wrath may burn hot against them and dI may consume them, in order that eI may make a great nation of you.”

Exodus 32:14

14And the Lord frelented from the disaster that he had spoken of bringing on his people.

Exodus 33:13-14

13Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please gshow me now your ways, that I may know you in order to find favor in your sight. Consider too that this nation is hyour people.” 14And he said, i“My presence will go with you, and jI will give you rest.”

Exodus 34:6-7

6The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, k“The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and lgracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast mlove and faithfulness, 7 nkeeping steadfast love for thousands,
Or to the thousandth generation
pforgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but qwho will by no means clear the guilty, rvisiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”

Exodus 34:9-10

9And he said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, please slet the Lord go in the midst of us, for tit is a stiff-necked people, and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for uyour inheritance.”

The Covenant Renewed

10And he said, “Behold, vI am making a covenant. Before all your people wI will do marvels, such as have not been created in all the earth or in any nation. And all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord, for it is an xawesome thing that I will do with you.

Numbers 14:11-20

11And the Lord said to Moses, “How long will this people ydespise me? And how long will they not zbelieve in me, in spite of all the signs that I have done among them? 12I will strike them with the pestilence and disinherit them, and I aawill make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.”

Moses Intercedes for the People

13But abMoses said to the Lord, “Then the Egyptians will hear of it, for you brought up this people in your might from among them, 14and they will tell the inhabitants of this land. acThey have heard that you, O Lord, are in the midst of this people. For you, O Lord, are seen face to face, and adyour cloud stands over them and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night. 15Now if you kill this people as one man, then the nations who have heard your fame will say, 16‘It is because the Lord aewas not able to bring this people into the land that he swore to give to them that he has killed them in the wilderness.’ 17And now, please let the power of the Lord be great as you have promised, saying, 18 af‘The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, agvisiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.’ 19Please ahpardon the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of your steadfast love, just aias you have forgiven this people, from Egypt until now.”

God Promises Judgment

20Then the Lord said, “I have pardoned, ajaccording to your word.
