Exodus 34:6-9

6The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, a“The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and bgracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast clove and faithfulness, 7 dkeeping steadfast love for thousands,
Or to the thousandth generation
fforgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but gwho will by no means clear the guilty, hvisiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”
8And Moses quickly ibowed his head toward the earth and worshiped. 9And he said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, please jlet the Lord go in the midst of us, for kit is a stiff-necked people, and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for lyour inheritance.”

Numbers 14:18-20

18 m‘The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, nvisiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.’ 19Please opardon the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of your steadfast love, just pas you have forgiven this people, from Egypt until now.”

God Promises Judgment

20Then the Lord said, “I have pardoned, qaccording to your word.

Numbers 16:44-48

44and the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 45 rGet away from the midst of this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.” sAnd they fell on their faces. 46And Moses said to Aaron, “Take your censer, and put fire on it from off the altar and lay incense on it and carry it quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them, for twrath has gone out from the Lord; the plague has begun.” 47So Aaron took it as Moses said and ran into the midst of the assembly. And behold, the plague had already begun among the people. And he put on the incense and made atonement for the people. 48And he stood between the dead and the living, and uthe plague was stopped.

Psalms 106:43-45

43 vMany times he delivered them,
but they were rebellious in their wpurposes
and were xbrought low through their iniquity.
44 Nevertheless, he looked upon their distress,
when he yheard their cry.
45For their sake he zremembered his covenant,
and aarelented according to abthe abundance of his steadfast love.

Isaiah 44:21-22

The Lord Redeems Israel

21 Remember these things, O Jacob,
and Israel, for you are acmy servant;
I formed you; you are my servant;
adO Israel, you will not be forgotten by me.
22 aeI have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud
and your sins like mist;
return to me, for I have redeemed you.
