Jeremiah 20:9

Jonah 1:3

Jonah’s Anger and the Lord’s Compassion

1But it displeased Jonah exceedingly,
Hebrew  it was exceedingly evil to Jonah
and mhe was angry.
2And he prayed to the Lord and said, “O Lord, is not this what I said when I was yet in my country? nThat is why I made haste to flee to Tarshish; for I knew that you are a ogracious God and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and prelenting from disaster. 3 qTherefore now, O Lord, please take my life from me, rfor it is better for me to die than to live.”

Malachi 1:10

10 sOh that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire on my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, says the Lord of hosts, tand I will not accept an offering from your hand.
