11Then Pharaoh summoned the wise men and the sorcerers, and they, the amagicians of Egypt, also bdid the same by their secret arts.

Exodus 7:22

22But cthe magicians of Egypt did the same by their secret arts. So dPharaoh’s heart remained hardened, and he would not listen to them, as ethe Lord had said.

Abominable Practices

9“When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, myou shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. 10There shall not be found among you anyone nwho burns his son or his daughter as an offering,
Hebrew makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire
anyone who ppractices divination or qtells fortunes or interprets omens, or ra sorcerer
11or a charmer or sa medium or a necromancer or tone who inquires of the dead, 12 ufor whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And vbecause of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. 13You shall be blameless before the Lord your God, 14for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do this.

Isaiah 8:19

19And when they say to you, “Inquire of the wmediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter,” should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of xthe dead on behalf of the living?
